Federal status (United States)
In July 2026 the Drug Enforcement Administration filed two notices in the Federal Register. The first concerns 7-hydroxymitragynine above a stated threshold: processed or synthetic products containing more than 1.00 mg of 7-OH per article (or over 0.05%) are targeted for temporary Schedule I placement; the temporary scheduling order would take effect on publication after the notice period and could issue any day. The second notice covered three related synthetic compounds — mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15, and MGM-16 — which were placed in Schedule I by a final temporary order effective August 26, 2026. Natural botanical kratom below the threshold is not covered by the federal action. States that ban kratom outright (2026)
According to 2026 trackers, statewide kratom prohibitions or commercial sales bans exist in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, and Wisconsin, with California under a CDPH-led commercial sales action. Effective dates differ — for example Kansas and Tennessee bans took effect July 1, 2026, and Massachusetts followed by emergency order in August 2026. States that restrict concentrated 7-OH while leaf remains legal
Florida scheduled concentrated 7-OH (2025), Ohio restricted isolated/synthetic 7-OH (May 2026), and Virginia restricted concentrated products effective July 1, 2026; Colorado and South Carolina also apply specific controls. Dozens of cities and counties (for example in Mississippi, Illinois, and Florida) maintain local bans even within legal states. The American Kratom Association and state boards of pharmacy publish current lists.
KCPA-regulated states
States operating under Kratom Consumer Protection Act frameworks (such as Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Utah) require age limits, labeling, and testing and often restrict synthetic alkaloids. Canada
Kratom and its alkaloids are not scheduled under Canada’s Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, but Health Canada has not authorized them for sale as food, natural health products, or drugs, and selling them for human consumption is prohibited; enforcement includes seizures of ingestible products. Because Ultra Seven products are explicitly flavored chewables and dissolving strips for ingestion, we do not ship to Canada.
What this means at checkout

Where 7-OH legality by state restricts sale, we block the order at checkout rather than shipping and hoping. A blocked order is cancelled and refunded automatically; you do not have to chase it.
